How to get to Vila do Abraão
The island has no bridge and no private cars. You travel to one of three mainland ports, cross by boat and finish on foot.
Coming from Rio or the airport
Rio's airports are Galeão (GIG) and Santos Dumont (SDU). The simplest route is a shared transfer to Conceição de Jacareí that includes the speedboat to Abraão, about 3 hours in all. The staff can arrange it: mention it in your quote request.
Choose your port
Conceição de Jacareí
About 20 minutes by speedboat
The shortest crossing, with the most departures through the day. Usually the best choice from Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo.
Angra dos Reis
Speedboat, or ferry of about 1h30
Most convenient from the south of the state or Paraty. The ferry is the cheapest option but has few departures.
Mangaratiba
Ferry, about 1h30
A good option from Rio de Janeiro if you prefer a larger boat. It has few departures and often fills up on public holidays.
Timetables change with the season and the weather. Check with the operator before you travel. Over New Year and public holidays, buy in advance.
From the pier to Korui
From the speedboat pier it is 440 metres, about 6 minutes on foot. From the ferry pier it is 640 metres, about 9 minutes. Look for the wooden gate with the spiral sign on Rua do Bicão, number 28.
